Around twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the area, producing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Hailstones and Broad Destruction

Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets as large as 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent storm activity expected across different parts of both areas.

Public health experts warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
