AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret sect.
The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Addition
This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
